Florida Remote Online Notary Services (RON)
It’s 2020, and online notarization by video conference is legal in Florida, and it’s here to stay.
With a new Florida law that became effective January 1, 2020, Florida has become one of only 16 states that permit Remote Online Notarization (RON).
This system permits a specially trained and authorized Florida Notary Public to perform notary services (except marriages) using a specialized video conferencing link.
Remote notarization is a specialized commission by the Florida Department of State, which requires additional training, a higher notary bond, an errors and omissions insurance policy, and partnering with a Florida approved RON technology provider.
We’re pleased to announce that Florida Document Specialists and Florida Family Adoptions has completed all of these requirements and has applied for authorization by the State of Florida to begin providing remote online notarizations. We expect to be performing these services within 3-4 weeks.
These new capabilities will permit Florida Document Specialists and Florida Family Adoptions to digitally transform their customer’s experiences. We hope this will lead to higher efficiently as well as customer convenience and satisfaction.
As soon as we’re fully up and running with online notary services, we’ll roll out a dedicated web-page outlining our plans for providing remote online audio-video conference notarizations. The service will be free for all of our customers to utilize and will be competitively priced for non-customers with the goal of attracting significant market share in the years to come.
Stay tuned and stay well.
