Duties of a Florida Online Notary
A Florida online notary is authorized to perform several notarial acts. The most common notarial acts are the acknowledgment and the oath. Most documents submitted for online notarization have the proper notarial language already included in the document. Some do not. An online notary is not permitted to tell you which notarial act is required for your document(s). If you do not know, you need to find out. Below is an explanation of each act, and a sample notarial block that can be used once you determine which notarial act you require.
Acknowledgement
The purpose of an acknowledgement is for a signer, whose identity has been verified, to declare to an online notary public that he or she is familiar with the document to be signed and that they are signing the document willingly for the purpose indicated. Some common uses of an acknowledgement:
- Power of Attorney
- Deeds
- Wills
- Numerous Other Documents
